Carl Getto, M.D.
Carl Getto, M.D., joined Regional Medical Center at Memphis in August 2011 in the position of Chi
ef Medical Officer. He is also the Associate Dean for Hospital Services at University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Dr. Getto comes to Regional Medical Center from the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics, where he served as the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs since 2001. Dr. Getto graduated from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and he completed his residencies at the University of Colorado Medical Center. He earned a Masters in Management at the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University.
Dr. Getto has held several teaching and dean positions at medical schools in Colorado, Wisconsin and Illinois. Dr. Getto has been published in more than 40 journals, chapters and abstracts. His professional associations include organizations and initiatives focused on patient centered care, quality and medical education. His medical specialty is psychiatry.
