Adult Special Care

The Adult Special Care Center offers 1) primary and specialty medical care, including psychiatry, 2) nephrology care, 3) clinical pharmacy consultation services and medication adherence counseling, 4) medical case management, and 5) outreach case management to adults infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

The Adult Special Care Center has been designated as a Center of Excellence by the State of Tennessee Department of Health, and HIV positive persons can seek treatment here knowing that they will receive the highest standard of care. Individualized treatment is available for the whole person, addressing medical, psychosocial, nutritional, and financial needs. Patient education is also part of the treatment program, and is available to designated family and friends as well.

Through the Adult Special Care Center, patients can access information about the latest HIV-related research, as well as information about HIV-related community events, social activities, HIV/AIDS support organizations, and networking opportunities.
