The Memphis-MidSouth Affliliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure awarded Regional Medical Center at Memphis a $102,000 grant to provide critical breast health services to women in this community. The grant will provide nearly 700 screening mammograms in addition to diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies and post-biopsy mammograms for uninsured patients.
“Last year we were awarded $40,000, so this is quite an increase,” said Michael Proscia, Director of Medical Imaging and Cardiovascular Services. “This increase is a testament to the Komen grant committee’s faith in our programs and commitment to providing vital comprehensive breast services to our community.”
To receive a mammogram, patients should ask their primary care provider to write an order for the mammography. For those without a primary care provider, contact Natalie Steinfeld, Manager of Radiology Services, at 901.545.6855.
