Regional Medical Center Recognized for Quality Work

Recognized for Quality by the Memphis Business Group on Health

The Regional Medical Center at Memphis was recognized by the Memphis Business Group on Health at its Health Awards Luncheon. The annual event recognizes hospitals and health plans that have been leaders in improving health cost and quality in Memphis.

The Regional Medical Center voluntarily participates in the national Leapfrog Hospital Survey. Memphis is one of 37 communities participating in this national survey. The hospital inputs data in the survey tool and quality and safety initiatives at hospitals are assessed based on that data. This year’s Memphis Business Group on Health Awards recognized hospitals meeting Leapfrog standards related to the prevention of early elective deliveries. The Regional Medical Center was recognized for meeting the Leapfrog standard of 12 percent or less patients receiving elective deliveries during the 37-39 weeks of pregnancy.

Rick Wagers, Senior Executive Vice President and CFO, accepted the award for the Regional Medical Center at the ceremony held Thursday, April 28.
