Community and student volunteers who serve at Regional Medical Center and the staff volunteers in the Difference Makers program were recently honored at a Volunteer Appreciation Event. Nearly 100 attended the event at the Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum where they enjoyed fun, food and a special recognition ceremony featuring Susan Stephenson, CEO and co-founder of Independent Bank. Stephenson shared her own experiences as the mother of a patient who was cared for at Regional Medical Center. Stephenson also shared an inspirational message of encouragement applauding the volunteers and staff members who regularly give of their time and expertise to improve the health and well-being of our community.
The honorees at the event included Liz Williams, Trauma Nurse Manager, who was named the Volunteer Coordinator of the Year; Linder Lemmons, Nurse Educator, who was named the Difference Maker Employee Volunteer of the Year; and Tamara Lance, Community Engagement Volunteer, who received the Mark Lindstrom Volunteer Service Award.
