Visitor Information

Having a loved one in the hospital can be a stressful time for everyone.  Regional Medical Center offers a variety of services to assist guests visiting the hospital.  The section provides some general information you will find helpful during your visit.

Patient Information

Before visiting the hospital, guests can call ahead to learn the location of your loved one and/or speak with them on the phone. Telephone operators are available 24/7 to provide routine patient information and direction, including room and phone numbers. Operators may be reached by calling 901.545.7100.  The operators receive, transfer and track calls to the desired destination in the hospital, including outpatient and inpatient areas.

Guest Services

Guest Services representatives are available at four information desks throughout the hospital to assist you.  Visitors are asked to check in at these desks to receive visitor passes.  Representatives can also assist you with needs such as providing patient information, giving directions or locating wheelchairs. 

Guest Services desk locations and hours of service:

  • Rout Building Lobby (women/newborn services): 24 hours/7 days a week
  • Jefferson Lobby (Main entrance): Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Critical Care Waiting Room: 24 hours/7 days a week
  • Outpatient Care Center (Madison entrance): Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Visiting Hours

Most of the critical care areas in hospial have visiting hours at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. daily.  Visits are restricted to adults only, and in some cases, family members only.  Please verify visiting policies with the individual unit in which your loved one is staying.

Cafeteria

The hospital offers a full service cafeteria and a vending area for after hours dining located on the 1st floor of the Jefferson Building beside the Guest Services desk at the main entrance on Jefferson Avenue.

Gift Shop

The Johnson Auxiliary Gift Shop offers a wide assortment of flowers, candy, balloons, special home décor items, children’s clothing and more.  It’s a convenient and affordable resource for family members looking for a way to bring cheer to a patient in the hospital.

The Johnson Auxiliary gift shop is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. To contact the gift shop, call 901.545.7072.

All proceeds generated from gift shop sales benefit the hospital and people in need. The Johnson Auxiliary provides baby items for infants leaving the hospital and provides emergency assistance to patients through the Last Resort Fund. Money donated from gift shop proceeds are used to purchase life-saving equipment.
